OUR ARTICLES OF FAITH

About the Bible

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, without any error, and is the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

About God

There is one and only one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

About the Son

God the Son, Creator and Sustainer of all things, became flesh; born of a virgin, He walked the earth as Jesus – both true God and sinless man. In fulfillment of Scripture, He died on the cross to pay the penalty for man’s sins and rose bodily from the dead, demonstrating His power over death. He ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father and intercedes for believers as our High Priest.

About the Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit calls all people to the Savior and permanently indwells every believer upon his or her saving faith in Jesus Christ. He was sent to guide, teach, encourage and empower the believer, and convict the world of guilt in regard to sin, righteousness, and judgment.

About Mankind

God created man in His image to have fellowship with Him; man rebelled against God’s command, incurring both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature and are separated from God.

About Salvation

God’s justice demands payment for sin. Salvation is found only in Christ Jesus, resting solely on the work He completed on the cross – the innocent sacrificed as payment for the guilty. Salvation is the eternal, free gift of God; it cannot be earned and is entirely apart from man’s works. Salvation is possessed only by those who believe, trust in, and rely upon the all-sufficiency of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice as payment for their sin. Salvation is evidenced by love – for God, for believers, and for others. Love for God is evidenced by obedience to His commands.

About the Church

The Church is the body of Christ, regardless of tongue, tribe, or nation. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, for fellowship, and for the proclamation of the Gospel.

About Eternity

The Lord Jesus Christ will come again to this earth in His glorified body, visible for all the earth and its inhabitants to behold. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is an incentive for holy living and faithful service.

There will be a bodily resurrection of all who have lived and will live throughout time. Those who believed, trusted in and relied upon Christ’s payment for their sins will spend eternity in Heaven, in the presence of God. Those who did not believe, trust in and rely upon Christ’s payment for their sins will spend eternity in Hell, separated from God’s presence.

About Baptism & The Lord's Supper

Baptism is by immersion and is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a remembrance of His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the Church in its present age. They are not to be regarded as required for man’s salvation.
